Who'd of thought it's the beginning of Spring? We got caught up in the biggest snow storm to hit the UK in years. The wind really picking up on our Putteridge Bury walk, temperature was about -5 degrees but the wind chill factor made it feel more like -10. Snow is very deep along the grass verge aligning the wall down hill where it has blown across the fields. Really enjoyable walk though, our dogs loved it and we where accompanied by two other beautiful Goldie's who are so full of energy. With their long coats and bouncy personalities, golden retrievers tend to embrace the cold like they embrace life, thoroughly and joyfully, our border collie is a real live wire and is now flat out after a great adventure in the snow with his adopted sister Cassie and new friends Leo & Pearl.

I've been reading up on this extreme weather for my first ever Dog Blog to make it more informative, it could be just a side effect of Global Warming? The Arctic has had record warmer temperatures this year, pushing the colder weather further south to mix with warmer conditions. This devastating weather is because 'Storm Emma' has swept in from the Atlantic Ocean with torrential winds in the west which has clashed with the extreme polar conditions of the 'Beast from the East' which has drifted in from the Arctic and Northern Russia.

Whatever the names the dogs enjoyed it!
